UFC heavyweight champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones is considered by many as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. The 36-year-old from Rochester, New York is one of 9 fighters in UFC history to win at least two divisions in the UFC.

Bones was a long-time light heavyweight champion in the promotion and owns several records in the 205-pound weight class before moving up to heavyweight last year.

He was the youngest fighter to first win a UFC belt, doing so at the age of 23 when he steamrolled past the legendary Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua at UFC 128 in 2011. Overall, Jon made 11 total successful title defences before making his highly-awaited heavyweight debut.

Jones has fought 29 times inside the MMA cage and has never been stopped or outpointed by an opponent. His only career defeat came in 2009 when he was disqualified against Matt Hamill for landing an illegal elbow.

That controversial DQ is the only defeat in Jon’s MMA career but it’s one that even UFC President Dana White disputes up to this day. Jones also has a no-contest against Daniel Cormier but that was originally a KO win for Jones but was overturned after he tested positive for a banned substance.

Jon’s dominance in the UFC can be attributed to his size. At 6-4, Bones towered over most of his opponents at light heavyweight. Bones also had an 84-inch reach which is one of the longest in the UFC and an inch longer than that of Francis Ngannou.
